We are looking for committee and subcommitee members to join the Auckland Dragon Boat Association.
Whether you have a lot of time to spare or just a little, your help would be greatly appreciated. The time commitment varies depending on the role, but every bit of assistance makes a big difference.
You can nominate your fellow teammates (with their permission) or yourself for any of these roles. Remember - For the electiion of Officers and Committee, please ensure you have a seconder. You are not required to have a seconder if you are nominating yourself for a subcommittee role.
Election of Officers and Committee
- Safety Officer: The Safety Officer will work closely with the committee and subject matter experts to ensure the safety of all members during training and events. This role involves communicating with leaders, being on weather watch for training sessions (training provided), reviewing injury and incident reports and implementing safety protocols to mitigate future occurrences.
- Events Manager: The Events Manager will shadow the current Events Manager to gain hands-on experience with a view of taking over in the future. This role includes planning and organizing events, coordinating logistics, and ensuring all events run smoothly.

Subcommittee Roles
- Funding and Sponsorship Subcommittee: This subcommittee, guided by the Funding Manager is responsible for securing funding and sponsorships to support the association's activities. Members will identify potential sponsors, create proposals, and maintain relationships with sponsors to ensure ongoing support.
- Safety Subcommittee: Members of the Safety Subcommittee will support the Safety Officer in implementing safety measures and reviewing injury and incident reports. This subcommittee plays a critical role in maintaining a safe environment for all members.
- Sweep Coordination Administration : The Sweep Coordination Administrator will work with the Sweep Coordinator to manages the scheduling and training of sweeps, and ensure that there are qualified sweeps available for all training sessions and events.
- Equipment Subcommittee: This subcommittee will work with the Equiptment Coordinator, and is responsible for maintaining and managing the association's equipment. Members will conduct regular equipment checks, coordinate repairs and replacements, and ensure that all equipment is in good working order.
